This Month in Channel Islands Construction Focus – Issue 5.1
Welcome to the first edition of Premier Construction Channel Islands of the new decade.
As we begin 2020, we recap the latest Jersey Design Awards and all the acclaimed winners; we pop by the Blonde Hedgehog, and we take a look at some of Ashbe Construction’s latest projects.
The bi-annual Jersey Design Awards commends architectural and design accomplishments on the island of Jersey, with both modern and heritage buildings celebrated and recognised as the year’s winners. Sponsored by the Jersey Architecture Commission (JAC), an independent group set up by the Environment Minister to give guidance on improving design and architecture in Jersey, the awards attracted almost 70 entries for the difference categories, with all nominations sustaining and enhancing the character of Jerseys built and landscape environment. However, only one winner could be chosen from each category.
Encircled by the quiet cobblestoned streets of Saint Anne, that lead to Alderney’s dramatic coastlines lies the Blonde Hedgehog, a warm and welcoming haven composed of three buildings; Clarence House, The Corner House and The Blonde Hedgehog itself. Housing two suites, seven rooms and one cottage, the property is inspired by the rustic beauty and charm of this enamouring island and is designed to be a true home away from home.
Formed in January 2016, Ashbe Construction is a locally founded company that can deliver projects for clients from any sector of the market, be it residential new build, interior remodelling or commercial fit out. Ashbe Construction utilises their robust supply chain to create a value driven service for their clients delivering on time, on budget and to an unrivalled quality. They pride themselves on their reputation and leave each and every client with a true satisfaction that they made the right choice with Ashbe Construction.
With all this, it’s time to travel the Channel Islands once more. Excelsior!
