Cornerways
Cornerways is a new 3 property development in St Peter Port Guernsey. The plot was bought by local property developer and contractor Ivy Developments with planning permission to build 3 new houses.
Cornerways will consist of three new build homes which have already been sold prior to their completion at the end of October.
Ivy Developments completed demolition works on the site before constructing three residential properties to a high standard. It was important that the new plot was in keeping stylistically with the houses in the local area.
Each property boasts a light and spacious open plan kitchen and lounge area, WC and entrance hall on the ground floor. Upstairs is comprised of 3 double bedrooms, a modern family bathroom and a master en-suite. Each property comes with a generous 2 allocated parking spaces and an enclosed rear garden. The location is perfect for families with local amenities including shops, schools and hospital just a few minutes’ walk away.
PREMIER CONSTRUCTION CHANNEL ISLANDS spoke with Jason Winch Director at Ivy Developments about the project: “The whole design face is really impressive due to the area and the size of the properties. We chose the theme of the black and the white as it is really striking. This monochrome theme runs from the exterior of the house right through to the interior design. We went for a contemporary look with black framed windows and white walls. We have continued the colour scheme it into the bathrooms and the kitchens too. Each property will have herringbone flooring and large three pane sliding doors at the rear which will really stand out.”
Despite a few teething problems with the drainage on the site which Ivy developments managed to iron out quickly, the project ran smoothly. Works have been completed to schedule with the development looking to complete in October. Jason acknowledged that this was to the credit of the sub-contractors working on the project, he said: “The sub-contractors have been superb on this job, they have kept the works on time and kept to promises so that’s been great.”
The project has been getting a lot of interest from the community who have commented on the high quality finish of the development. Jason commented on the feedback he has gained from the locals, he said: “All the properties have sold already before completion, everyone is very impressed with how they fit into the local landscape.”
Cornerways is Ivy Development’s first project which includes three new build houses which has been a great achievement for the firm with future developments sure to follow.
