This Month in Channel Islands Construction Focus – Issue 6.1

Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Construction Channel Islands!

In this issue we take a look at Le Quennevais Skate Park; we check out Maison De Landes; and we step inside The Pandora Hotel.

A landmark project for urban sports in Jersey, a long-awaited world-class skate park at Le Quennevais was greeted with huge enthusiasm as hundreds of delighted islanders turned up to see the opening. The project was carried out for The Government of Jersey by main contractors Brenwal, who built the approximately 3000m² skatepark, including over 2000m2 of rideable space made of flat, inclined and curved reinforced concrete slabs. Features include a variety ledges, rails, and other rideable obstacles.

Magnificently refurbished throughout in an extensive £3.85m, two-year project, Maison de Landes in St Ouen, is Jersey’s only hotel designed exclusively for people with disabilities. Opened in June, the 28-bedroom accessible hotel specialising in accommodating guests with a variety of disabilities and their carers, now boasts specially equipped bedrooms, a 48-seater dining room, a new lounge and orangery, hydrotherapy pool, wellness room and landscaped gardens with beautiful views. There’s also the Community Hub (scheduled to open in late summer), where Jersey-based community groups, elderly people, disability organisations, charities and Jersey residents of all ages can gather to enjoy lunch, entertainment and activities.

Further upgraded throughout to provide guests with the latest in stylish comfort and luxury, The Pandora Hotel in St Peter Port, Guernsey now has even more to offer. The hotel is a period property near the centre of St Peter Port and virtually next door to Victor Hugo’s house. The hotel’s elevated position offers superb views which can be appreciated from some of the 55 ensuite bedrooms, whilst its lounges overlook peaceful walled gardens.

With all this and more, look no further than Premier Construction Channel Islands for the latest awe-inspiring developments that continue to shape the architectural landscape.
