L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa
A £2m refurbishment programme of the AA Four Silver Star L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa in Jersey has been completed. With a rich history dating back over 150 years, the renovation included an overhaul of the hotel bedrooms, function spaces, lounge areas and spa.
L’Horizon, owned by Hand Picked Hotels, is one of Jersey’s premier beachfront hotels. It is enviably placed overlooking the golden sands of St Brelade’s Bay just ten minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from St Helier. All 106 guestrooms and suites at the hotel – with the majority featuring balconies providing uninterrupted sea views – have been refreshed, and new electronic key systems and reverse cycle air conditioning has been installed allowing touch-of-button access and temperature control.
The hotel’s primary function suite, The Crystal Room, and the adjoining Rose Lounge have both also been updated with a refreshed décor in neutral yet elegant tones designed against a backdrop of floor-to-ceiling windows exposing stunning views out to sea. The smaller yet equally impressive Drawing Room, with space for up to 50 guests, has been modernised as part of the renovation and now boasts a state-of-the-art integrated sound system ideal for conferences, meetings and private events.
To complete the upgrade, and to make the most of the glorious Channel Islands sunshine, a new sun terrace has been developed adjacent to the 15m indoor swimming pool offering new relaxed-style lounge seating. Further enhancements to the hotel’s award-winning health club and spa include upgraded changing rooms and new power showers.

Whilst these are all core sectors for OD Projects, the majority of the company’s turnover is within the hotel & leisure sector, where they have built up a strong reputation as a quality contractor.

Working on the L’Horizon project, OD Projects were appointed as the main contractor delivering a 50-bedroom refurbishment across three phases, over three floors. Works included the installation of air conditioning, refurbishment of case goods and soft bathroom refurbishment to all bedrooms.
To the associated corridors and stairwells OD Projects installed new ceilings and full redecoration. The company carried out various other works around the hotel, such as providing a new decked sun terrace, new poolside shower and many works to back of house areas.
