This Month in Channel Islands Construction Focus – Issue 5.9
Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Construction Channel Islands!
In this issue we take a look at the 2022 Jersey Design Awards; we check out Albert Pier and St Helier Marina; and we step inside Cornerways.
The Jersey Architecture Design Awards are held to celebrate, promote, and encourage good design in Jersey, moving it towards excellence.
The Jersey Architecture Commission run the Jersey Design Awards every two years. The Commission is an advisory group appointed by the Minister for the Environment to provide independent, expert advice and guidance on major and sensitive developments in the island. The aim of the awards is to celebrate and promote the high quality of design created and achieved by Jersey architects, designers, and developers.
Ports of Jersey are in the process of completing an astounding once-in-a-generation regeneration programme to transform the harbours in St Helier. Much of Jersey’s harbour infrastructure is ageing and no longer meets the needs of today’s passengers or vessels. The Harbour Master Plan aims to modernise the facilities which have developed piecemeal over many centuries. These works will safeguard the long-term viability of St Helier Harbour, serving both passengers and freight and improving customer experience. The regeneration programme will also help to realise the area’s potential as a leisure, cultural and tourism destination.
Conerways is a new 3 property development in St Peter Port Guernsey. The plot was bought by local property developer and contractor Ivy Developments with planning permission to build 3 new houses. Cornerways will consist of three new build homes which have already been sold prior to their completion at the end of October. Ivy Developments completed demolition works on the site before constructing three residential properties to a high standard. It was important that the new plot was in keeping stylistically with the houses in the local area.
With all this and more, look no further than Premier Construction Channel Islands for the latest awe-inspiring developments that continue to shape the architectural landscape.
