This Month in Channel Islands Construction Focus – Issue 4.7

Welcome to the latest edition of Premier Construction: Channel Islands Construction Focus.

In this month’s issue we profile Mitchell Building Contractors and we cast an eye over a refurbishment to Dunnel’s in Beaumont.

Mitchell Building Contractors believe every project should be kept as simple and straight forward as possible, regardless of how complex the task may seem. Whenever possible, they try to use local established and trusted subcontractors and suppliers.

A goal-oriented building contractor, Mitchells places a high emphasis on flexibility, originality and dedication. Their priority is to deliver what they promise, and they understand the importance of deadlines and budget limits. The team has a passion for creative designs, original and cost-effective solutions and longstanding expertise in the field. Regardless of its size and scope; they throw the full weight of their team behind every project to deliver the results their clients expect.

Construction Director Rob Hearne recently took time out of his busy schedule to talk through some highlights from the past year.

In addition, Dunell’s, one of Jersey’s longest-established family businesses, trading for 120 years, have dramatically refurbished their main retail outlet in Beaumont. Works include underpinning the walls, removing steelwork to increase headroom internally, reinforcing existing doorways between the old and new sections of the building and installing and painting a new shopfront, as well as adding new signage. The building was re-wired throughout with new air handling systems and new air-conditioning installed throughout.

The former interior, which included concrete walls and floors and plain plastered ceilings, is now transformed with new fixtures and fittings together with new lighting and a re-painted ceiling to create a much more appealing, customer-friendly, environment. A new bespoke area for displaying decanters and glassware has also been created.

With all this and more, look no further than Channel Islands Construction Focus for the latest awe-inspiring developments that continue to shape the architectural landscape.
